Frank Brenton Memorial Band Fund

Mr. Brenton taught at Wausau East High School from 1970 to 1988.

Newly Scholarship Fund Established

Frank “Les” Brenton (1925-2017) taught band in the Wausau School District for 27 years from 1953 to his retirement in 1979. Besides starting thousands of students on band instruments in elementary schools, he also taught at Horace Mann and John Muir, and eighteen years at Wausau East High School.   Mr. Brenton instilled his love of music in his students and encouraged them to do their best.

The Frank Brenton Memorial Band Fund is open to any student in the greater Wausau area to study a band instrument at the Wausau Conservatory of Music (WCM). WCM or area music teachers can recommend a student for a scholarship to study in private lessons, in one of our wind/brass ensembles or summer middle school band camp.

An initial donation to start the fund was made by David and Darlene Lee in honor of their friend and former colleague.

We invite former students, colleagues and friends of Mr. Brenton to make a donation or consider a yearly pledge to his memorial fund to honor a wonderful person who touched so many young lives.

If you would like to contribute contact Paula Webb Clark (former student of Mr. Brenton 1975-1979) phone:  715.845.6279 x105

Several Individuals have already pledged multiple year giving for this fund.
