Middle Level Band Camp

Make it a noteworthy summer!

The Wausau Conservatory of Music is offering 12 popular and affordable camps Summer of 2018 for pre-school through high school age students.  Camp registration is now open!

Want to try a new instrument? Flexible lesson times to fit your summer plans are offered by 20 faculty artists in voice, strings, band instruments, guitar and percussion. We can even arrange a demonstration lesson to help make your decision easier. Lessons start as early as three years of age but adults are encouraged to explore lessons too!

Teaming up with the Conservatory to offer financial assistance this summer are two new donors: The Frank Brenton Music Scholarship Fund and a grant from the Clyde F. Schueter Foundation. Application in is available on our website.   Students may want to also check with their music departments or apply for the Leadership Grants through your high school.

Rock Camp

Funding for summer camps is also provided through two grants:   Community Arts Grants Awarded by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and a Creation and Presentation Program grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin and the National Endowment of the Arts.

Musical Hash ~ Una Notte Bella raises $18,000

Halle Fischer

Thanks to all who came out to celebrate the youth of the Wausau Conservatory of Music in our 36th Annual Una Notte Bella event on Friday, March 2!  This year’s event raised $18,000 to support the school’s scholarship program.  Each year the Conservatory awards over $42,000 in financial scholarships for students who otherwise could not afford attending the Conservatory.

We would like to thank Sandy Heywood and Lucy Clancy for chairing this year’s event.  The highlight of the evening was the student performers from the Wausau Area Chamber Ensemble directed by Patrick Langer, and members of the Musical Theatre VOCAL  Camp directed by Lynn Riska.  Bravo students!
