April 1, 2020

As you are aware, due to the National Public Health Emergency, WCM has decided to extend the facility closure to April 24th with the hope of reopening the building on Monday, April 27th. As usual, this date is subject to change.

A revised make-up policy will be communicated soon to reflect the extended closure.

I want to personally thank many of you for being flexible in working with our faculty and staff during this difficult time. I’m thrilled to share that the majority of our students are continuing their education through virtual lessons and are finding much success in this new method of learning. We are extremely grateful that during a time where many nonprofits are closing their businesses, we are continuing to provide services and embrace our mission.

We are lucky to have you and your support. Thank you.

The administrative staff is working remotely. Feel free to reach out with any questions via phone or email

Wausau Conservatory of Music has decided to escalate the response to the COVID19 and will be suspending classes and programs beginning tomorrow, March 17, 2020. The anticipated reopening date remains as Monday, April 6.

Again, students and faculty are encouraged to use virtual learning tools and WCM will make every effort to support this shift in the learning environment. Students are advised to speak with their individual teacher to arrange for virtual learning.

Administrative staff will still be in the office during normal office hours this week and the week of April 30th. We will continue to hold spring break between March 21 – 29 where the building will be closed, and administrative staff will not be readily available.

The building will be undergoing a large cleanup during this time and the cleaning crew will be following the CDC’s recommendations regarding disinfecting and cleaning.

We are continuing to work on a revised lesson make-up policy which will be communicated to students and parents. Special requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We appreciate your understanding as we make decisions in the best interest of our community. For updates and information, please visit the WCM website at www.WausauConservatory.org

Private lessons will continue to be held until Wednesday, March 18, and group class suspensions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The anticipated reopening date is Monday, April 6.

Students and faculty are encouraged to use virtual learning tools and WCM will make every effort to support this shift in the learning environment. Students are advised to speak with their individual teacher to arrange for virtual learning.

While in-person programs and classes are suspended at this time, the building will remain open in accordance with our school calendar except for spring break between Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 29.
