What you'll learn and discuss
So what is Americana? What is a Jam Band?
‘Americana’ is contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of specific genres. This music form relies heavily on varied acoustic instruments and allows for loose arrangements and improvisation.
This is an intermediate class. Familiarity with open chords, simple rhythms, basic melodies, and some experience playing songs is recommended. All you really need is a love for playing songs with other people who also love songs!
