String Orchestra

Experience the Camaraderie of youth orchesteras.

Youth orchestras create a community in which musically-inclined students can thrive. Regardless of whether you go on to study music, chemistry, or engineering, an orchestra experience can be a positive guiding force in socialization and development.

The String Chamber Orchestra, formerly WAYS, is open to students from grade 8-12 who play the violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

Performers will learn orchestral fundamentals including:

  • proper bowing
  • following a conductor
  • basic instrumental technique
  • ensemble practice and performance

Rehearsals take place on Mondays from 5:30pm-6:30pm and will begin on September 13th and rehearse for 15 total weeks. Rehearsals will take place in the Carolyn Mark Concert Hall.

Tuition Rate: $149 per student

This program is lead by Faculty Teaching Artist, Ann Johnson
