Our Mission
Wausau Conservatory of Music is the premier regional school of musical studies and performance in Central Wisconsin. WCM invites students of all ages and abilities to explore their potential through the guidance of skilled performing faculty artists in a welcoming and accepting environment.

Community Impact
In 2025, WCM celebrated the fifth anniversary of our partnership with Marathon County HeadStart to bring Musical Storytime to all 170 (this number may have changed) children in the program. This free program, led by WCM Voice instructor Dr. Dana Carlson-Kottke, presents musical concepts and experiences through age-appropriate books while also discussing social-emotional concepts through reading.
Children in HeadStart are either at or below the federal poverty line, are foster children, or are unhoused. Since its inception, the program has expanded to in-person readings in addition to virtual program delivery.
